Annie Kevan’s “All the Presidents’ Girls” is an overdue homage to our former presidents’ not-so-secret secret girlfriends (and boyfriends). In case you’re wondering, the gentleman in question was William Rufas DeVane King. King was James Buchanan’s lover. The two lived together for 15 years in Washington, DC. King was a politician himself, serving as a Senator and was the shortest-termed Vice President – dying just 45 days into his term from tuberculosis. Andrew Jackson refered to King as “Aunt Fancy” and “Miss Nancy” due to his relationship with Buchanan. [via The Daily What]
